Lake Tahoe Vacation ~ Weather & Conditions

Lake Tahoe and the Tahoe Basin were first discovered in 1844. Since then the highlight to any trip is the enjoyable climate. Each season has the best of what’s needed to make every trip to Tahoe spectacular.

In the last 50 years, 80% of our days have had sunshine. Average daily temperatures during winter months hover around highs of 40 degrees. Summer months bring highs in the mid-70’s – perfect for enjoying days on the lake or hiking and mountain biking around the area.

Spring and fall provide moderate temperatures and rainfall. In March, April and May there are usually around 14 rainy days – September, October, and November provide about 13 rainy days. Not bad and each day is likely to have a touch of sunshine also.

Summer visitors should plan on bringing light, informal summer wear for daytime; sweaters, jackets or wraps for the cooler evenings. Bring your suit and your beach towel – our sand beach is perfect for soaking up the warm sun and relaxing next to the lake.

Winter guests should plan on ski wear and informal cold weather dress for outdoor activities; normal casual attire for indoors. Pack plenty of socks in case yours get wet while enjoying skiing, snowmobiling or snowshoeing.
